Treatment
There is currently no antiviral approved for either acute or chronic EV infections, but Interferon or ribavirin has shown to be effective.  In vitro, the combination of alpha and gamma interferon were shown to be the most effective.

Natural remedies, such as diet, acupuncture , and Mona Vie, been reported to minimize symptoms and help patients feel better.

Eating a well balanced diet, with lots of fruits and vegetables strengthens the immune system.  Probotics or live cultures (found in yogurt) can also strengthen the GI tract. EV thrives in acidic environment, so foods high in acid such as tomatoes may irritate GI tract

Adequate rest also helps strengthen a weakened immune system.  If you experience insomnia, or are not refreshed after sleep, please see your doctor about a possible sleep aid
